Cornelia (Nini) Davies In 1980 I began my acupuncture training, graduating in 1983. I have continued to learn, and most recently did extensive training in China in 2006 and 2007. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council. “My acupuncturist, Cornelia, has the skill to make carefully considered treatment decisions, while at the same time, deeply listening to my needs and anxieties as a person. I always feel that my health is in good hands in her consulting room.” Sally, Kingsbridge.

Who am I? I qualified in Chinese acupuncture in the UK in 1983. Throughout the last twenty-five years I have continually added skills to my practice. In particular, in the late 80s and 90s, I added healing and also taught meditation. In 2006 I spent several months in China, updating my acupuncture skills at a World Health Organisation approved college and in traditional Chinese hospitals. By the way, friends often call me 'Nini'. That's pronounced 'NeeNee'. It's shorter than 'Cornelia'! Acupuncture training 1980-83 Licentiate of Acupuncture at the College of Traditional Acupuncture, UK I work mainly as a traditional Chinese acupuncturist, which includes the use of
moxibustion, cupping and
TuiNa (Chinese massage). I underwent extensive further training in Beijing, China, over a three-month period during 2006. This intensive course involved my spending every morning in a traditional Chinese hospital, and every afternoon in the classroom learning about diagnosis from professors and experienced doctors of Chinese medicine. I feel that this experience has enormously upgraded my skills.
I also practise Energy Medicine. This is a combination of various techniques I have been trained to use over the years. It revolves around the use of Holistic Healing and structural integration, and creative visualization to help deepen the client’s experience and awareness of the changes taking place in the body-mind-spirit. I also use creative visualization to help people feel more complete and less vulnerable in their energy bodies. Even if I am not using acupuncture, I may use Tuina (Chinese massage) or cupping where
appropriate. Years of training and work in Chinese Medicine mean that during Holistic Healing sessions, I often use my fingers to stimulate acupuncture points. |
